CLASSIFICATION: 12-Month Confidential Secretary for Curriculum and Instruction
QUALIFICATIONS: 1. High school diploma with high school business/secretarial training.
2. Post high school training in secretarial procedures and computer operations preferred.
3. Experience as a school system secretary.
4. Good typing and word processing skills.
5. Excellent operational knowledge of computer hardware and software such as Google Suite, processing requisitions, data systems and Excel Suite.
REPORTS TO: Director of Curriculum and Instruction
JOB GOALS:
- Provides support in a confidential capacity to the Director of Curriculum and Instruction in all aspects of operation, including responsibilities and the requisite authority to carry out the listed performance responsibilities.
- Carries out work assignments with considerable independence within the rules, regulations and procedures of the Penns Grove-Carneys Point Regional School District.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Maintains appropriate files that support the variety of activities that occur in the Office of the Director of Curriculum and
Instruction.
2. Works cooperatively with other district office staff.
3. Supervises the workflow associated with the Office of the Director of Curriculum and Instruction and prioritizes activities
for completion.
4. Maintains a list of available substitute aides.
5. Maintains the classroom and non-classroom aide absence files.
6. Maintains an updated computer database of district approved curriculum and textbooks.
7. Maintains and responsible for the programming of all new and revised curriculum packages.
8. Prepares reports from available data as required.
9. Prepares and processes vouchers and purchase orders for instructional materials and services.
10. Types forms, reports and correspondence as directed by the Director of Curriculum and Instruction.
11. Serves in a confidential capacity to the Director of Curriculum and Instruction as it pertains to the following job
responsibilities: typing agendas and minutes for the committee meetings; completing evaluation reports of
administrative staff; typing personnel and other closed session agenda items from the Director of Curriculum and
Instruction to the Superintendent; typing letters of reprimand to staff; corresponding personnel recommendations and
supporting documents to the Superintendent; and other items pertaining to contract negotiations.
12. Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Curriculum and Instruction.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 12-Month Year
EVALUATION: Annually by the Director of Curriculum and Instruction and Board of Education
