Reading Interventionist Leave Replacement - Middle School
Job Summary:
The primary purpose of this position is to work directly with students who may require supplemental supports in order to access the standards-based curriculum delivered by classroom teachers. The Reading Specialist will administer skill diagnostic assessments and monitor student progress, as needed, in order to provide students with appropriate interventions, using a MTSS model. The Reading Specialist will implement classroom instructional programs which meet the needs of students to help them develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for continued education. The Reading Specialist will maintain an appropriate level of communication with administrators, parents and other staff members while adhering to confidentiality guidelines, upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations and Board policies.
Qualifications:
NJ Teacher of Reading Certificate preferred
Masters Degree in Reading preferred
Orton Gillingham Certificate preferred
