QUALIFICATIONS:
Valid New Jersey Educational Services Certificate and School Counselor Endorsement
Experience implementing effective teaching methods and developmentally appropriate classroom activities
Demonstrates knowledge of behavioral intervention and possesses strong classroom management skills.
Maintains training in de-escalation and restraint

JOB GOAL:
To help students achieve personal fulfillment by providing them with guidance and counseling services to make successful personal, educational, and occupational life plans with a focus on supporting an approved, special education self-contained positive behavior reinforcement program of study and establish a class environment that fosters learning and personal growth; to help students develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for continued education; to create a climate that increases students’ self-regulation; and to maintain good relationships with parents and other staff members.
