JOB DESCRIPTION

School based Speech Language Therapists needed Immediately 

CFY WELCOME - company paid supervision.

MUST HAVE A NJ DOE CERTIFICATION

Brick Township School District (5 days a week)

Job duties:

  • Provide specialized professional therapy, evaluations, and remediation for a variety of disorders and/ or delays (e.g. articulations disorders, cognitive impairments or delays, social language use of pragmatic disorders, expressive and receptive language impairments or delays, fluency / stuttering, voice disorders, auditory processing disorders, oral motor and oral feeding issues, dysphagia etc.)
  • Develop goals and objectives for intervention deemed appropriate for each student's Individualized Educational Plan (IEP). The SLS will be expected to provide specialized professional therapy during the entire year as outlined in each student's IEP with the understanding that the goal of the school based Speech and Language Therapy is to support and maximize educational participation in class.
  • The SLS will also be expected to perform evaluations including observation of the student in school settings, and home settings, if required. Formal reports are written based on standardized testing and observation. The SLS will also review reports from other SLS's and make recommendations based on the report. When deemed appropriate provide informal appraisals of student needs as a member of the IEP Team and / or I& RS Committee.
  • The SLS may be needed to provide direct or consultative services. Direct services include individual, small group sessions or integrated in-class activities, Consultative services include but are not limited to observation of student, review of work samples, consultation with parents and teachers, and participation in meetings and as needed, recommend equipment / materials and obtain measurements for equipment in a timely manner to assist the district in obtaining competitive quotes for necessary specialized equipment / materials.
  • The SLS may be required to participate in the district's parent/ teacher conferences, applicable parent clinics and / or offer professional development training.

Qualifications:

Must hold a valid, current New Jersey Department of Education Standard Speech Language Specialist Certification

Compensation:

Hourly rates 1099 or W-2 based on experience

CFY's welcome with company paid supervisor
