Security Guard

Job Title: Armed School Security Guard

Position Type:  Part Time/Hourly 

Job Summary: The School Security Guard is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and visitors. This role involves patrolling the school grounds, monitoring security systems, responding to incidents, and ensuring compliance with school policies and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patrol school premises regularly, including buildings, parking lots, and playgrounds, to ensure safety and deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor surveillance cameras and security systems to identify and respond to suspicious activities or security breaches.
• Enforce school policies and procedures related to security and conduct.
• Respond promptly to emergencies, including threats, accidents, and medical emergencies, and provide necessary assistance.
• Collaborate with school administration, local law enforcement, and emergency services to enhance school safety and address security concerns.
• Conduct routine security checks and inspections of school facilities, including doors, windows, and alarm systems.
• Provide security during school events, including sports activities, assemblies, and parent-teacher meetings.
• Maintain accurate and detailed reports of security incidents, daily activities, and observations.
• Assist with the development and implementation of school safety plans and protocols.
• Serve as a visible and approachable presence to reassure students, staff, and parents regarding their safety.

Qualifications:

• Valid state-issued concealed carry permit.
• Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or military service is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of security protocols, emergency response procedures, and relevant laws and regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with students, staff, and the public.
• Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Physical ability to perform security duties, including standing, walking, and responding to emergencies.

Working Conditions:

• This position may require working outside in various weather conditions and standing or walking for extended periods.
• Flexibility in work hours, including evenings and weekends, may be required based on school events and emergencies.
