TITLE OF OPEN POSITION:       Elementary School Instrumental Music Teacher       
                       
DATE POSITION WILL BE VACANT:  August 21, 2024

SALARY:   As per agreement between the Board of Education and the Phillipsburg
                     Education Association
 
 
JOB DESCRIPTION:          The Instrumental Music Teacher provides basic fundamentals of instrumental music instruction for elementary school band students designed to meet individual needs and motivate students; plans special musical presentations.
           
QUALIFICATIONS, MANDATORY:     
1.   New Jersey Teacher Certification in Music (Instrumental)
2.   Competence in Knowledge/Skills
3.   Ability to teach multiple small group sectional instruction with appropriate selection of lesson music for a wide variety of musicians
4.   Ability to motivate pupils to develop   
      skills, attitudes, and musical    
      experiences
5.   Ability to plan a balanced music  
      program and organize class time so that  
      preparation, rehearsal, and instruction
      can be accomplished within the allotted   
      time
6.   Required criminal history background     check
 
QUALIFICATIONS, DESIRED:              
       1.   Excellent interpersonal, communication, and planning skills
  1. Ability to work collaboratively
  2. Prior music instruction experience in a school setting
