I. TITLE

  • District Coordinator of Inclusive Programs (Grant Funded - IDEA: Coordinated Early Intervening Services)

II. PRIMARY FUNCTION

  • Organize, coordinate, and supervise the development, implementation, operation, and evaluation of district inclusion programs

III. REPORTS TO

  • Assistant Superintendent of Pupil-Special Services

IV. SUPERVISES:

  • Special Education Teachers in In-Class Resource Programs
  • ICR Paraprofessionals

V. QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must possess or be eligible for a New Jersey Supervisor Certificate or higher
  • Special Education Teaching certification preferred
  • Experience in a supervisory or leadership capacity related to inclusion programs, services, and practices preferred

VI. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The District Coordinator of Inclusive Programs assumes a staff position in the organizational structure and is directly responsible to the Assistant Superintendent of Pupil Special Services. Major duties include the following:
  • Ensure all students can access the district curriculum in the least restrictive environment.
  • Guide teachers and staff in implementing accommodations, modifications, and instructional strategies for students with IEPs and 504 Plans
  • Coordinate District I&RS process with an emphasis on supporting historically overrepresented subgroups through the intervention, identification, and evaluation process
  • Ensure IEPs and I&RS action plans are implemented in compliance with federal and state regulations, including monitoring the alignment of IEP goals and I&RS goals with grade-level standards and transition planning.
  • Promote co-teaching models and provide support for collaborative teaching between general and special education staff.
  • Facilitate collaboration among general education teachers, special education teachers, related service providers, and other team members.
  • Coordinates district approach to disproportionality
  • Design and deliver ongoing professional development on evidence-based practices for staff in the ICR setting
  • Evaluate special education teachers, general education teachers, inclusion facilitators, and ICR paraprofessionals.
  • Develop initiatives to foster a culture of inclusion and respect throughout the school.
  • Collaborates and participates in IEP meetings to provide resources and support to parents, teachers, child study teams and other IEP participants, when appropriate.
  • Collaborates in the writing of grants and proposals benefiting special education students
  • Collaborates in the submission of the annual NJDOE Extraordinary Aid application
  • Participates in the district’s budget development process to ensure equitable allocation of funds to inclusive and intervention-based programs.
  • Orchestrates the recruitment, screening, and recommendation of highly qualified personnel to school administrators and central office administrators for interviewing and hiring.
  • Order supplies, materials, and equipment to support student needs across all areas of the special services department
  • Performs all other related duties and responsibilities as directed by the Assistant Superintendent of Pupil-Special Service

VII. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • The Supervisor shall be employed on a ten-month (10) basis. Salary per experience and credentials.
