QUALIFICATIONS
- The position shall require a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience as a school bus driver or driver of another large vehicle.
- Valid NJ Commercial Driver’s License, minimum Class C with P-Passenger and S-School Endorsements required. Class B with P and S preferred.
- An acceptable driving record, as verified through the NJ Motor Vehicle Commission.
- Knowledge of equipment and technology related to specific job functions.
- Must possess a good knowledge of procedures and state/federal regulations governing the safe operation of a school bus.
- Must possess a knowledge of local streets and roads.
- Must possess the ability to recognize and report any unsafe conditions.
- Must be in compliance with state regulations regarding use of controlled substances and alcohol as it applies to bus drivers.
- Must be able to work independently and follow through on oral or written instruction.
- This position requires the medical and physical capacity to perform the major responsibilities.

The employee must demonstrate physical strength, agility, and energy to perform essential job functions and to ensure health, welfare, and safety of all students and of self. The following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by the employee to perform the essential functions of the job: sitting, standing, reaching, walking, lifting, bending, crouching, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, finger dexterity, carrying, repetitive motions, speaking, listening, and visual acuity. The employee must lift and/or move a minimum of 50 pounds.
