As part of the educational team, the assistant learns to establish instructional objectives for each student that are consistent with The Newgrange School of Princeton, Inc. (“Newgrange”) mission, philosophy, and vision.

Assist in individualizing instruction to meet the specific educational needs of each student in the class, or the assigned student in the case of an Extraordinary Aid.

Support the teacher's implementation of effective lessons that demonstrate knowledge of subject matter.

Provide classroom continuity and routine when a substitute teacher is standing in for the regular instructor, as guided by the substitute teacher.

Incorporate varied and appropriate instructional materials for the class.

Efficiently utilize instructional time, and help students achieve academic success.

Provide a nurturing learning environment, by giving students positive and frequent feedback.

Assist in the enforcing of school policies and safety regulations.

Maintain Individual Educational Plan (IEP) standards for all students.

Assist enforcing the Classroom Management and Discipline Plan for each classroom.

Supporting the philosophy and vision of The Newgrange School,

Performing related duties as assigned.
