Description

The Northern Region Educational Services Commission (NRESC), with its central office located in Wayne, NJ, is looking for a Supervisor of Childcare.  Pensionable, 12-month position. Single-health benefits covered with the opportunity to obtain additional coverage for family/spouse/dependent.  The Supervisor of Childcare oversees the daily operations of the before, day, and after care programs in the Pompton Lakes Public Schools; the before and after care programs at Riverdale Public School; and, the before and after care programs for the Woodland Park Public Schools pre-k population.  The Supervisor is also expected to lead the Commission's efforts to expand before, day, and after care services throughout the northern region. 

Qualifications: 

  1. Bachelor’s Degree and valid New Jersey Teaching Certification in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, or related educational field.
  2. Valid New Jersey Supervisor Certification.
  3. Ability to provide own transportation, as this will be a traveling position. 

Performance Responsibilities: 

  1. Supervise the total operations and maintenance of the program, facilities, and childcare environment.
  2. Plan, organize, and facilitate age-appropriate program activities, and oversee special operations (including food, inventory, and enrollment).
  3. Maintain effective communication with day care and NRESC staff, children, parents/guardians, and building staff.
  4. Schedule, supervise, monitor, and evaluate daycare, before care, and after care staff members.
  5. Prepare, submit, and maintain the program budget and enrollment information.
  6. Manage roll books, sign-outs, and timesheets for all staff under their purview.
  7. Provide information as needed to the NRESC business office regarding payroll, tuition issues, and bank deposits.
  8. Administer appropriate first aide and medication (with parent authorization), as well as arrange for medical attention (with parent permission) as needed.
  9. Maintain program records including but not limited to Emergency Drills, Fire Drills, Building and Fire Inspections, 4C’s contracts and inspections, immunization records and reports, enrollment forms, personnel, and operational procedures.
  10. Perform classroom duties and age-appropriate activity planning as needed.
