About Us:

The Dumont Public School District is a dedicated K-12 educational institution committed to academic excellence and student success. We are seeking a highly skilled School Business Administrator / Board of Education Secretary to manage our financial operations, ensure compliance with all fiscal regulations, and support the Board of Education.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the district's financial operations, including budgeting, payroll, purchasing, and
  • Manage and maintain financial systems, including Systems 3000 and
  • Administer and ensure compliance for federal grants, including IDEA and Title
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to support the district's
  • Collaborate with district leadership to align financial planning with educational
  • Prepare reports and financial statements for the Board of Education and
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial
  • Serve as the Board of Education Secretary, maintaining official records, preparing agendas and minutes, and ensuring compliance with board policies and Open Public Meetings Act requirements.
  • Manage OPRA (Open Public Records Act) requests, ensuring timely responses and compliance with public records laws.
  • Oversee transportation services, ensuring efficient and safe student transportation
  • Work collaboratively with the Buildings and Grounds Supervisor to support facilities maintenance, safety, and capital improvements.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • New Jersey School Business Administrator Certificate (or eligibility).
  • New Jersey Qualified Purchasing Agent Certification
  • Experience with Systems 3000 and Frontline financial management
  • Strong knowledge of federal grants management, including IDEA and Title
  • Prior experience serving as a Board of Education Secretary
  • Familiarity with OPRA requests and public records
  • Experience in transportation oversight and knowledge of school transportation regulations preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with district leadership, including the Buildings and Grounds Supervisor.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication
