About CJCP

Central Jersey College Prep Charter School (CJCP) is a tuition-free, public charter school located in Somerset and New Brunswick, New Jersey. Serving grades Kindergarten through 12th, CJCP has a diverse student population from urban and suburban neighborhoods. CJCP first opened in 2006 with 77 students, now serving over 1,400 students with about 250 faculty and staff. CJCP is a recipient of many awards and designations such as 2016 Blue Ribbon Award, NJDOE Top-Performing Tier-I Status, US News Best High Schools, and College Board Female Diversity Awards. CJCP has produced a 100% graduation rate and a 100% acceptance rate into four-year colleges and universities since 2011.

Job Description

The LDTC reports to the Director of Student Support Services.

The LDTC provides a full range of services as a member of the Child Study Team Member/CST Case Manager and the Intervention and Referral Team (RTI) in the assessment of, educational planning for, monitoring of, and re-evaluation of students in need of special services, in accordance with all applicable federal, State and local codes and regulations. The LDTC supports in the identification and diagnosis of perceptual and learning disabilities and in the prescription and delivery of appropriate and effective educational services and programs. The Learning Disabilities Teacher-Consultant (LDTC) is primarily a teacher and a consultant, assisting the instructional staff in an understanding of the needs of students with disabilities and recommending and demonstrating techniques, strategies, and materials so that virtually every student meets or exceeds the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards.

The LDTC is a Child Study Team Member with their own student caseload who prepares and implements with other CST members, teachers, and parents Individualized Education Program (IEP) for each identified student (on and off their caseload).

The LDTC/CST Case Manager monitors and implements plans and participates in annual review meetings.
