Job Title:
Secretary / Registrar
 
Reports to:
PRIMARY: District Supervisor of Technology;
SECONDARY: Works with District Directors and Principals
 
Supervisory Responsibilities:
N/A
 
Term of Employment: 
12 months (July-June)
 
Salary:
Salary as per GEHREA negotiated contract amount.
 
Job Goal:
The Secretary/Registrar ensures that all students seeking to enroll in the GEHRHSD comply with all applicable laws, policies, and regulations, and that the District, in return, is fully satisfying its responsibilities to the same. Additionally, this staff member shall involve other District staff, from Guidance Supervisor to Principal to Director, as necessary to ensure the District is properly informed of and prepared for student needs and/or concerns.
 
Qualifications:
Education/Experience/Background:
  • High School degree required;
  • Associate’s degree or experience in large-public schools / data management / business office setting preferred
  • Multi-lingual preferred
 
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
  • The primary point of contact for student registration, withdrawals, or transfers;
  • Collects and approves all documentation relating to student enrollment;
  • Communicates with Directors of Special Projects (District McKinney-Vento and Educational Stability Liaison) and Special Services (Special Education and Out of District Placements) and Curriculum & Instruction (proper school assignment / program placement);
  • Works collaboratively with all engaged parties to assist in residency verification and follow-up;
  • Provides guidance/assistance to the public as required in the completion of these functions

Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the school.

  • Ability to understand, apply and use personal computers and software applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, the Internet, Outlook, electronic mail).

  • Ability to process paperwork accurately according to standardized procedures.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, employees and others.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of office management procedures.
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations, District policies and procedures, principles, guidelines, and best practices related to department (e.g., Pupil Services, Human Resources, Facilities and Business).
Evaluation:
Performance of the job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board of Education policies on evaluation of tenured and non-tenured non-certificated employees, and other laws as pertinent.
