Job Description

The Gateway School in Carteret, New Jersey is seeking a dynamic School Social Worker with experience in assisting with:

• Mental health concerns
• Behavioral concerns
• Positive behavioral support
• Social skills
• Classroom support
• Consultation with teachers and families
• Provide individual and group counseling and therapy

The position is full-time. We offer a collaborative, supportive and friendly work environment. Three to five years of school experience working with special needs students is required. The Gateway School is an approved private special education school for students with special needs ages 5-21. Our mission statement is to provide a safe nurturing education environment dedicated to the vision that individuals with disabling conditions are entitled to a full and meaningful life.

Start date: July 1, 2025

Certifications required:

• School Social Worker Certification
• Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW preferred)
• Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW preferred)
