Special Education Teacher-Extended School Year (7/22-8/19)
Union County Educational Services Commission is a public school district in Westfield, New Jersey that was established to provide cost-effective educational programs and services for the twenty-one school districts located in Union County. The Commission is currently seeking a full-time Special Education Teacher at the Work Readiness Academy, a transition program serving 18-21 year-old students with Mild/Moderate Cognitive Impairments, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD, and other Physical and/or Health Impairments. This dedicated teacher will be responsible for planning and implementing instructional programming for students with disabilities who are preparing to leave the school system and enter the world of work. Ideal candidates will have prior experience working with students with ASD, and have knowledge and experience related to Vocational/Life-Skills Instruction and/or Work-Based Learning.

* Available July 22-August 9, 2024
* Hours: 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
*Salary: $41.10/ Hr.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or Related Field from Accredited College or University
* New Jersey Department of Education Certificates - Teacher of the Handicapped or Teacher of Students with Disabilities AND and at least one High School subject area certification
* Prior teaching experience with students with Cognitive Impairments and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder
* Highly effective Interpersonal and Oral/Written Communication Skills.
