Physical Education & Health Teacher
This is a 10 month, full-time, tenure-track position with pension and benefits. Compensation is $59,252,or more, based upon level of education and years of contracted teaching experience and prorated based upon start date.

Principle Academy Charter is a fast-growing New Jersey Public Charter School serving grades K-6. We offer an innovative curriculum design focused on mastery of academic and character skills. In addition to an extensive extracurricular program including sports, the arts and community service, PAC provides 2:1 devices, connectivity and STEAM education. We are conveniently located in Egg Harbor Township, the "Heart" of Atlantic County. Essential Duties:
- Teaches knowledge and skills in physical fitness, health education, rhythms and dance, and individual, dual or team sports, utilizing curriculum designated by Principle Academy Charter School and other appropriate learning activities.
- Instructs students in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of Principle Academy Charter school.
- Works cooperatively with other physical education teachers in planning and implementing a balanced physical education program.
- Analyzes, demonstrates and explains basic skills, knowledge, and strategies of formal sports, games rhythms, and fundamentals of body movement.
- Develops lesson plans and supplementary materials compatible with the division's basic instructional philosophy and congruent with the course and all standards; provides individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student and subgroups of students.
- Establishes and maintains standards of students' behavior to provide an orderly, productive environment in the physical education areas.
- Develops and instructs students in a fitness and wellness program.
- Is able to provide high quality in-person, hybrid, and/or remote instruction.
- Must adhere to all safety protocols, including any related to the coronavirus pandemic.
- Must be able and willing to assist with the cleaning/maintenance of physical education supplies.

Minimum Qualifications ( Knowledge, skills and/or Abilities Required)
Must possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in education or a related field and meet the New Jersey Department of Education Licensure eligibility requirements to teach health and physical education. Must be eligible for or in possession of an appropriate New Jersey teaching license. Must possess the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, parents, and the public.
