Setting: School-Based Services (Pediatric)

• Excellent Compensation
• Exclusive school placement (no travel required)
• Hours: M-F, 2-4 hours/day, part time
• Compensation for the full school day, including prep time, note time, and lunch.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and Analyze: Conduct and interpret literacy assessments to identify students’ reading levels and needs.
• Provide Instruction: Deliver targeted reading interventions and personalized instruction to individuals and small groups.
• Support Teachers: Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate effective reading strategies and provide professional development.
• Engage with Families: Communicate with parents about student progress and offer strategies to support reading at home.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree: A degree in education, special education, reading, or a related field.
• Teaching Certification: A valid teaching license, often in elementary or secondary education, depending on the grade levels the specialist will work with.
• Reading Specialist Certification: In many states or regions, a specific certification or endorsement in reading or literacy is required. This might involve passing a specialized exam.
