TITLE OF OPEN POSITION: Special Education Teacher ICR – Early Childhood Learning Center
 
                                                           
DATE POSITION WILL BE VACANT: December 3, 2024

SALARY RANGE: As per agreement between the Phillipsburg Board of Education and Phillipsburg Education Association                                                                                                          Association
 
JOB DESCRIPTION: Provide specialized learning experiences and supervision of students with disabilities in a supportive classroom that develops in each student the skills, attitudes, and knowledge to meet the New Jersey Learning Standards as outlined in the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) for the student, using approved curricula and directives of the school.
                                             
QUALIFICATIONS, MANDATORY:     1.   NJ Teacher Certification of Students with Disabilities
                                                                        2.   NJ Preschool through Third Grade Certification or
                                                                              Certificate of Eligibility
                                                                        3.   Knowledge of Standards Based Curriculum and Instruction
4.   Understands the use of behavioral interventions
5.   Experience with students with developmental disabilities
6.   Required criminal history background check
 
QUALIFICATIONS, DESIRED:  
  1. Design and implement multi-faceted interventions
  2. Communicate (written and verbal) effectively
  3. Understands Special Education Regulations
  4. Excellent interpersonal skills
  5. Understands Social and Emotional Learning
  6. Understands use of assistive technology  
  7. Universal Design for Learning and Differentiated Instruction
  8. Effective use of Google applications
