Social Studies Teacher

Mount Saint Mary Academy is seeking a full-time Social Studies Teacher with a strong interest and background in World History and United States History.  The ideal candidate is available to start as soon as possible and should have the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Studies, Education, History, or related field;
• Master’s degree and two plus years of experience on the secondary level is preferred;
• Knowledge to teach US History and World History course content;
• Well-versed in teaching historical thinking and writing skills;
• Strong classroom management skills and ability to create a supportive learning environment;
• Strong technology skills and ability to maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other relevant information;
• Capacity to teach Economics courses is a plus.

The position involves teaching five courses and participating in extracurricular activities and school events.
