Description
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education
  • Must have NJ Teacher of Music Certification
  • Expert in instrumental music pedagogy
  • Excellent performance skills on their major instrument
  • Strong conducting skills
  • Demonstrate knowledge of current and standard wind band literature
  • Working knowledge of instruments, rehearsal strategies, and methods
  • Instrumental music (concert band, marching band, jazz ensemble) experience
  • Willingness to participate in County, Region, and All-State festivals
  • Inspire student and community enthusiasm for the music program
  • Ability to support the overall music program
  • Interact positively with colleagues and community supporters
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work in team-teaching situations
  • Strongly Preferred Qualifications:
  • Brass OR Percussion specialist
  • Music Theory/Music Appreciation
  • Piano/vocal experience
  • Marching band experience is preferred
