Description BERGEN COUNTY SPECIAL SERVICES
ANNOUNCEMENT:  POSITION OPENING

The Board of Education is seeking applications for the 2024-2025 school year for the following position:

TEACHER ASSISTANT (BEHAVIORAL)
(10 Months – Non-certificated)
Gateway Program

Qualifications:
  1. High School diploma.
  2. Effective written and oral expression.
  3. Demonstrated ability to work with or experience working with children with disabilities.
  4. Demonstrated enthusiasm for supporting the needs of students with significant educational disabilities.
  5. Able to support middle and high school academics.
  6. Experienced computer/clerical skills – highly preferred.
  7. Experience working with students with behavioral disabilities – preferred.
  8. Willing and able to complete Handle with Care training.
  9. Current CDL – highly preferred.
  10. New Jersey residence within one (1) year from date of hire.
