Job Overview
Valid NJ Supervisor, School Administrator, or Principal Certificate
Minimum experience as determined by the Board
Demonstrated leadership in school improvement, program development and curriculum integration, and application of technology across curriculum
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the special services programs, ensuring smooth and efficient delivery
Supervises and coordinate the activities of the Child Study Team
Supervises the educational programs and services of the department and the effective implementation of the programs and services
Works with building principal and Superintendent in the implementation of special education programs
Responsibilities
Supervise and support staff in delivering high-quality services to individuals with special needs. Manage day-to-day operations, including scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation.
Oversee budgeting processes to ensure financial sustainability of programs. Conduct regular assessments of program effectiveness and make necessary adjustments to improve outcomes.
Maintain accurate administrative records and documentation as required by regulatory agencies.
Requirements
Demonstrated ability in program development and management, including budgeting skills.
Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse populations.
Strong organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while also being self-directed.
Lead the development of special education programs.
Recruit, select, and evaluate special education staff, including paraprofessionals and aides
Recommend policies and programs for special education students
Ensure compliance with state, federal, and administrative laws and regulations
Maintain accurate records for the special education department
