Job Description:
Millville High School is seeking dedicated English Language Arts Instructors to teach various grade levels in an engaging, student-centered and collaborative learning environment. These full-time positions involve delivering engaging instruction utilizing American and World Literature and supporting students in developing essential literacy skills while following the district curriculum. The ideal candidate will be passionate about literature, committed to student growth, helping students develop confidence in their reading and writing abilities, and eager to collaborate with colleagues in a professional learning community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide explicit instruction in reading comprehension strategies to enhance students' ability to analyze and interpret texts.
- Foster critical thinking and effective communication skills.
- Guide students in writing original, focused responses supported by textual evidence.
- Utilize formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that encourages student participation and growth.
- Participate in job-embedded professional development during the school day to refine teaching strategies.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and success.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Required: Bachelor's degree in English from accredited college/university; NJ Certification, CE or CEAS in English Language Arts 6-12
Salary Range: *Per MEA contract
