Substitute One-on-One Assistant
QUALIFICATIONS
The position of One-on-One Assistant shall require a high school diploma or a high school equivalency certification, as well as the physical and mental capacity to perform the major responsibilities of the job assignment.
GENERAL FUNCTIONS
The One-on-One Assistant is assigned to a student (or students) to perform the duties as described in their IEP’s. The One-on-One Assistant works under the direction of the classroom teachers and/or certified staff to promote the target student’s (or students’) academic achievement, behavioral growth, socio-emotional relationships, and personal development. The One-on-One Assistant must adapt to the particular educational/therapeutic needs of the student(s).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The One-on-One Assistant must demonstrate physical strength, agility, and energy to perform essential job functions and to ensure health, welfare, and safety of all students and of self. The following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by the employee to perform the essential functions of the job: sitting, standing, reaching, walking, lifting, bending, crouching, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, finger dexterity, carrying, repetitive motions, speaking, listening, and visual acuity. The employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
