Sussex County Educational Services Commission (SCESC), located in Sparta, New Jersey, has an anticipated opening for a School Social Worker to begin on or about February 1, 2025.
The School Social Worker will primarily work at the Northern Hills Academy, a K-age 21 program. Students who have emotional, behavioral and social skill challenges. This person will lead group counseling sessions and individual student sessions as per IEP's. School social worker may also be asked to conduct assessments, testing and diagnostic examinations of students for the purpose of identifying learning or social interaction issues, and recommending courses of action or corrective procedures to overcome issues and maximize learning. Understanding and working with a wide range of behaviors is a must. Trained in CPI/HWC is recommended.
Certification:
New Jersey Certification as a Social Worker
Education:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Salary Range:
As per negotiated contract and commensurate with experience.
