We’re heading into Year 2 of our successful CKLA ELA program and will be launching an exciting new math curriculum—both backed by high-quality professional development, including preservice days and ongoing training throughout the year.  We’ve also just finalized a new, highly competitive contract that includes three full and four half days of PD, plus opportunities to earn extra compensation.

Job Overview:     Taylor Street School is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Self-Contained Special Education Teacher to join our team in providing specialized instruction and support to students in grades K-2. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment that addresses the unique needs of each student, promoting their academic, social, and emotional growth. The teacher will develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs), adapt curriculum, collaborate with related service providers to ensure student success, and must possess strong behavior management skills to create a safe and supportive learning environment.

Qualifications:  

  • Valid New Jersey Instructional Certificate with Special Education endorsement.
  • Experience working with students with disabilities in a self-contained classroom setting (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of child development and effective instructional strategies for young learners with disabilities.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction, implement positive behavior management techniques, and collect and analyze data.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
