Required

  • Must pass NJ criminal history review
  • Valid New Jersey Principal Certificate or eligibility
  • Minimum experience as determined by the board
  • Demonstrated leadership capability in the areas of curriculum and staff development
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Reports to: Principal, Superintendent or Designated Supervisor

Supervises: All certified and noncertified school staff as assigned by, or in the absence of the principal.

Job Goal:  To assist the principal in providing school wide leadership.

 

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Assumes the primary responsibility to develop and recommend to the Principal regulations and procedures for all school discipline and implements policies and procedures for such.

  • Coordinates and supervises overall attendance procedures, including school attendance, classmattendance, and school registers.

  • Coordinates and prepares student activity programs for the school.

  • Makes arrangements for adequate supervisory coverage at the various club and class activities or affairs (chaperones, police, proctors, and custodians).

  • Develops a school events calendar, Coordinates use of the school building for all special programs and/or activities with the exception of athletics.

  • Shares supervisory responsibilities at school connected events.

  • Develops the student and faculty handbooks.

  • Assists in observation, evaluation, and selection of staff.

  • Assists in the assigning and supervising of all non-teaching duties and responsibilities of Teachers, in the development of the master schedule.

  • Coordinates, schedules, and supervises all assembly programs.

  • Assists in the development, implementation, and evaluation of intervention and student support programs that address the needs of at-risk students.

  • Monitors and supervises students during arrival/dismissal, lunch, recess, and other activities during the school day.

  • Works with the building administration and the school ABS regarding H.I.B. related procedures and issues.

  • Any and all other administrative duties that may be assigned by the Principal and/or Superintendent.
