TITLE OF OPEN POSITION: Guidance Counselor – High School
 
DATE POSITION WILL BE VACANT:February 1, 2025
 
APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED: January 6, 2025

SALARY RANGE: As per contract
 
JOB DESCRIPTION: To provide academic, social and emotional counseling and interventions to support the needs of students in school, through classroom, and small group and / or individual sessions.

QUALIFICATIONS, MANDATORY: 
  1. New Jersey School Counselor Certification
  2. Student Centered Focus
  3. Required criminal history background
QUALIFICATIONS, DESIRED:
  1. State of New Jersey Licensed Professional Counselor Certificate
  2. Assist in identification, intervention, prevention and management of at-risk students.
  3. Knowledge of college/university admissions processes, scholarship programs and other educational opportunities.
  4. Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
  5. Ability to organize and coordinate work.
  6. Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
  7. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.
  8. Understanding of College and Career Readiness and Naviance.
