Union County Educational Services Commission is a public school district located in Westfield, NJ that was established to provide innovative and cost-effective educational programs for its 21 member districts in Union County. The Commission is currently seeking
School Safety and Security Monitors t
o fill hourly positions in the Extended School Year Program at
Westlake School,
a middle and high school program serving students with cognitive impairments, multiple disabilities and autism spectrum disorders.

** Candidates must be availble all programs dates to be eligible to apply for a position **
Description:
• Dates: July 19 - August 8, 2025
• Hours: 8:45 - 2:15 p.m., Monday - Friday
• Rate: $24.32/hour
Sample Responsibilities:
• Assist in maintaining order by monitoring school entrances and exits, corridors, grounds and all teaching and non-teaching areas of the school building.
• Investigate complaints, suspicious conditions, and any other occurences that would endager school personnel; student and/or school property and equiptment.
• Report significant incidents, safety concerns and other unusual circumstances to building administrators.
* Conduct daily screenings of students and staff following local, county and state health and safety protocols.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of High School Diploma, College Degree preferred
• Previous experience in law enforcement and/or working with high school students, preferably in an educational setting
• Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills needed to relate well with students, teaching staff and administration
