The State District Superintendent invites all qualified individuals interested in the position of Senior Educator Effectiveness Specialist.

DEFINITION: The Senior Educator Effectiveness Specialist plays an integral role in achieving the mission and goals of NPS by leveraging educator evaluation data systems to identify patterns of performance, opportunities for growth, and best practices. In addition to being directly responsible for the accurate collection and analysis of educator evaluation results, a successful candidate will have the opportunity to profoundly impact student achievement by turning educator evaluation result into actionable information to improve teacher administrator performance.


The Senior Educator Effectiveness Specialist reports to the Executive Director of Educator Effectiveness. Under the leadership of the Executive Director of Educator Effectiveness, the Senior Educator Effectiveness Specialist works closely with district leaders, Assistant Superintendents, and principals to provide support for educator evaluation and effectiveness.



  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S) or higher in Education from an accredited college or university.
  • Master’s degree in a related field (preferred).
  • Four (4) years of professional level experience analyzing data sets, preferable in a large, urban school district OR other educational setting.
  • Two (2) or more years working with performance evaluations systems (preferred).
  • Extensive knowledge of statistical software and/or coding packages including R and/or Stata.
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint).


Data Collection & Analysis

  • Organize, clean, and analyze data related to all aspects of educator effectiveness, including observation and evaluation results, measures of student learning as well as staff and student surveys.
  • Utilize data to create presentations, identify models of best practice, and prepare publications for internal stakeholder and public distribution.
  • Manage current reporting database, which is and Access based system.
  • Verify accuracy of staff rosters and align the rosters used for evaluation purposes to those in other NPS systems.
  • Regularly produce accurate and high-quality reports for school and district leadership.

Procurement & Administration of Comprehensive Performance Management System

  • Assist in the support and maintenance of a performance management system with a customer service orientation, including testing, roster verification, user guide development and end-user training.
  • Manage the ongoing enhancements and maintenance of the performance management system.

Stakeholder Management

  • Anticipate and acting proactively to resolve issues that impact the end user’s experience in accessing data or navigating the performance management system, including:
  • Prioritize competing staffing needs based on greatest impact on student achievement
  • Respond to inquiries or requests for information
  • Resolve technology issues experience with the performance management system or data tool
  • Develop systems and policies that provide customer-oriented support for accessing data.
  • Distribution of regular reports to school and district leadership.
  • Respond to requests for data and information from school and district leadership.
  • Meet as needed with school and district leadership resolve issues and explain data results.
  • Prepare written documents, presentations, and executive summaries for school, district state level audiences.
  • Manage and maintain the online video library, including procuring additional videos and coordinating rating those clips.
  • Support the development and professional growth of direct reports through coaching, feedback on performance and professional development opportunities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to design innovative techniques for working with imperfect data sets and translate outputs of self-directed data analysis into easily digestible, insightful, and high-level findings for both policy and practical applications.
  • A mix of strong analytical, research, and communications skills, with an emphasis on the ability to communicate the results of quantitative and qualitative policy analyses to diverse audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with school leaders, colleagues and other partners.

REPORTS TO:  Executive Director of Educator Effectiveness



Salary:                         Competitive and commensurate w/background and experience. The expected salary range for this position is from $70,000-$80,000.
