EMS INSTRUCTOR
(Full-Time)
Bergen County EMS Training Center
 
QUALIFICATIONS: 
  1. Instructors must be knowledgeable in course content, as evidenced by education and/or experience, effective in directing and evaluating student learning and practical application of skill stations, and be prepared in educational theory and techniques. 
  2. Must possess current, valid licenses, certifications and/or accredited program completions necessary to provide effective, creditable instruction in the specific areas assigned by the Director of EMS.
  3. At the time of application candidate must be a member of an emergency services unit for three (3) consecutive years prior to applying for this position.
  4. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  5. Must have the ability to interface effectively with diverse groups and adult learners.
  6. Must have evidence of successful potential, as demonstrated in classroom presentations, prior experience, references and interviews as applicable.
  7. Must be available to work a flexible schedule to accommodate day, evening and/or weekend classes.
  8. Must have effective organization skills.
  9. Such other qualifications as may be acceptable to the EMS Director, Assistant Superintendent, and the Board and allowed by law.
  10. New Jersey residency required within one (1) year from date of hire.
