Part-Time Math Tutor

We are seeking a part-time tutor to provide academic support to high school students in Math during the school day. The tutor will work collaboratively with classroom teachers to assist students who need extra help grasping core academic concepts.

Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring to students in Math.

• Work closely with classroom teachers to understand the specific needs of each student and align tutoring sessions with current classroom lessons and objectives

• Develop and implement individualized tutoring plans for each student based on their strengths, weaknesses, and learning styles

• Use a variety of teaching methods and techniques to engage students and reinforce learning

• Monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and provide regular feedback to teachers and parents

• Create and provide supplementary learning materials to support tutoring sessions

• Promote a positive and encouraging learning environment for all students

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in education or Math preferred

• NJ teaching certification in Math and/or Special education preferred

• Experience working with high school students

• Strong knowledge of core academic subjects, particularly those taught in high school

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Patience and ability to motivate and engage students

• Flexibility to work with different learning styles and abilities

• Proficient in using technology and educational software/resources

This is a part-time position with hours scheduled during the regular school day. Exact hours and schedule will be determined based on student needs and the successful candidate's availability.
