Junior Varsity/Assistant Varsity Softball Coaches
Brief Description
:
The Board of Education of Middlesex County Magnet School is currently accepting applications for Junior Varsity Softball Coaches.
Salary will be based on the Junior Varsity/Assistant Varsity Coaches salary guide in effect for the 2024-2025 school year. Appointment is made on a yearly basis.
If a Junior Varsity team cannot be fielded within ten (10) days of the first official practice, the position will not be filled and you will be given the position of assistant varsity coach at a reduced salary.
Responsibilities:
The Junior Varsity Coach will have full responsibility for the Junior Varsity level team as well as assisting the Varsity Coach with such athletic team activities as practice, travel, attendance at home and away games. Compensation will be based on the Teacher’s Agreement with the Board of Education.
Qualifications:
Be the holder of a New Jersey State Teacher’s Certificate and/or a County Substitute’s Certificate, have knowledgeable background of the sport as a player or coach in college or in high school, three years sub varsity coaching preferred, and a successful background in working with young people in a related sports field. Coaches will be certified in CPR/AED and Sports First Aid and must register for the NFHS Coaching Principles Course, if new to the profession, within 120 days of employment. The candidate must have completed “A Guide to Heat Acclimatization and Heat Illness Prevention” course as well as “Concussion in Sports – What you need to Know.” Certifications need to be completed prior to the first day of the season.
Appointment:
Appointment is at the discretion of the Board of Education.
