Preferred experience/qualifications: 

  • Holds one or more of the following: Board Certified Behavior Analyst, Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst, or Registered Behavior Technician (preferred not required)

  • At least 1 year of experience working with students with ASD and developmental delays

  • At least 1 year of experience utilizing the principles of applied behavior analysis (preferred, not required)

  • Other areas of experience include: child development, counseling, early childhood education, psychology

General:

  • Working in an environment that is passionate about education, special education and inclusivity 

District Wide Behavior Analyst or BCBA Roles and Responsibilities

Report to coordinator of behavior analysis department 
  • Provide behavior analysis services for students who receive special education and students who receive supports through I&RS tiers 2, 3 and/or have a 504 plan 

  • Conduct functional behavior assessments for eligible students from the direction of the coordinator of the behavior analysis department 

  • Create, modify, and implement behavior intervention plans

  • Collect, analyze, and summarize data to monitor student progress 

  • Train and demonstrate behavior intervention plans for classroom teachers and paraprofessionals 

  • Participate in district wide professional development on the implementation of behavior analytic principles in public schools, data collection, classroom management, and other relative topics presented by the coordinator of behavior analysis department 

  • Work directly with students who present complex and challenging behaviors on a case by case basis

  • Maintain effective communication and working relationships with students, peers, leadership, parents, and community members 

  • Report on student data, progress, and regression through progress reports trimesterly 

  • Respond to crisis situations and implement crisis management and prevention techniques
