The BCBA plays a critical role in supporting students, teachers and building administration. It is necessary to have excellent collaboration skills to support teachers, parents, and other school personnel to foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment. The BCBA conducts Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and develops Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) that support students in developing behaviors that increase their academic performance and social interactions. The Behavior Specialist supports staff and schools in implementing behavior management strategies and systems.
