Computer Science Teacher

COMPUTER SCIENCE TEACHER 

Responsibilities:

• The primary classroom responsibility is to teach AP and Advanced Computer Science.
• Prepare daily lesson plans focusing on Computer Science standards, course objectives, student performance, and student assessments.
• Teach technology classes with an emphasis on computational thinking and computer science/engineering concepts.
• Participate actively in school life, including leading clubs and/or activities, chaperoning school trips, and possibly coaching the Robotics Club.
• Create a safe and engaging classroom environment where students feel comfortable learning and exploring new content.
• Plan effective lessons and assessments using the materials in the curriculum.
• Demonstrates and teaches Computer Science in a classroom setting using computational analysis and problem-solving through mobile app development and/or physical computing.
• Provides instruction and course/program management in the overall knowledge and application of hardware design and software development, allowing students to discover computer science concepts and skills by creating personally relevant, tangible, and shareable projects.
• Facilitate and improve the school’s science and technology programs.
• Plan and oversee information technology curricula.
• Plan and execute programs to actively engage students, parents, and the community.
• Deliver STEM-oriented instruction (Science, Technology, Engineering, and
• Mathematics) through Project-Based Learning methods.
•  Employ a variety of instructional techniques, instructional media, and performance assessments, which guide the learning process toward academic achievement and curriculum goals.
•  Teach students to work collaboratively to solve problems and to think logically and creatively.
• Complete other duties as assigned and maintain a strong, regular personal attendance record.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field. 
• This position is for the 2025/2026 academic year. Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience is preferred. NJ certification is not required but preferred.
