Visual Arts Teacher for 5th and 6th Grade Students
Job Summary:
The position is for an Visual Arts Teaching Position for the 2024-2025 School Year.
Daily Fine Arts instruction for grades 5 and 6.
Hands on / Multi-Medium Projects.
Building Art Works Displays.
District Art Show/Festival Participation/Involvement.
Community Display Opportunities.
Supports for student artists displaying/submitting work outside of the community (County, State, National Contests and Competitions).
Plan and organize instruction in ways that maximize student learning; employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies to communicate subject matter to students including strategies to meet diverse student needs.
NJ Standard, CE or CEAS as Art Teacher
Must demonstrate a knowledge of Fine Arts instruction as well as project based learning.
Follows and develops Fine Arts Curriculum for students.
Maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures.
Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.
Ensures that student conduct conforms to the school's standards and school policies, and establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
Meets with other professional staff members, especially within the arts and related grade level, and participates in faculty meetings, committees and additional performances and events.
Must have a strong educational background • Knowledge of current Fine Arts education instructional methods, as well as differentiated instruction based upon student learning styles.
Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the field of Arts • Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws and regulations regarding education and students, as well as relating to ALL Arts standards/content.
Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed.
Ability to organize and coordinate work.
Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others.
NJ Certification as a Teacher of Fine Arts • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
Educational Fine Arts experience preferred.
