COMMUNICATIONS AND CURRICULUM SECRETARY
SKILLS AND QUALIFICAITONS:
1. Excellent interpersonal and written/oral communication skills
2. Organizational skills
3. Experience with social media and technology-based platforms and processes such as: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Constant Contact, Google Applications, Microsoft Office Suite, District Information Systems.
4. Ability to work collaboratively, as well as establish and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders (students, staff, parents, the Board of Education and the community)
5. Represent the District in a professional manner at all times
6. Apply diplomatic techniques in all District-related matters and maintain strict confidentiality in sensitive matters.
7. Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, set priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively under time constraints.
8. Pass required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
REPORTS TO: Director of Curricluum, Superintendent
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Attend District, school and community events as required
• Assist administration by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to implement effective communication methods, enhance partnerships, and support District goals and objectives.
• Ongoing maintenance of social media and technology-based platforms and processes such as: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Constant Contact, Google Applications, Microsoft Office Suite, District Information Systems.
• Collect, analyze and present data to assist in the creation of building District-level action plans focusing on community engagement and communication efforts.
• Assist administration in soliciting external stakeholder feedback to improve services and programs and forecast future community needs.
• Assist administration in promoting various District and school programs and events (e.g. Back-to-School events, Parent-Teacher conferences, Student and Staff Recognition Programs, etc).
• Prepare various documents, reports, and written materials to convey information to parents, staff, administration, the Board of Education and the community as required.
• Assist with grant writing opportunities as required.
• Composes and types correspondence, notices and reports.
• Maintains a well-organized, up-to-date filing system.
• Arranges meetings, prepares agendas, and handles follow-up activities as necessary.
• Processes Purchase Orders for curriculum-related materials. Processes incoming curriculum orders.
• Maintains confidentiality as required and appropriate.
• Managing digital and print subscriptions K-8.
• Maintaining instructional tech programs, setting up digital classrooms for students and teachers K-8.
• Purchasing inclusive of organized list of needs for teachers PreK-8,
• Organizing data needed for state reporting and assessment as needed.
• Communicating with sales representatives, managing quotes, and purchases.
• Record keeping for all documentation required under ESSA (Title I, IIA, III, III Immigrant, IV)
• Duties associated with professional development including: scheduling, agendas, minutes, surveys, and communication with providers and staff
• Providing support using translation services as needed.
• Updating curriculum guides as requested and building/maintaining the curriculum website.
• Keeping timelines updated for required events under grant obligations.
• Performs other tasks related to the efficient operation of the office as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: EPEA AGREEMENT
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the board's policy on evaluation of support staff.
