QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be a certified teacher with the State of New Jersey in the appropriate subject area and grade level with Teacher of the Handicapped, Teacher of Students with Disabilities or Students with Disabilities endorsement
Experience implementing effective teaching methods and developmentally appropriate classroom activities
Maintains training in de-escalation and restraint

JOB GOAL:
To provide an approved, special education self-contained positive behavior reinforcement program of study and establish a class environment that fosters learning and personal growth; to help students develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for continued education; to create a climate that increases students’ self-regulation; and to maintain positive relationships with parents and other staff members.
