Job Description

The 9-12 Spanish Teacher will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive Spanish curriculum for students in 9th-12th grade. The ideal candidate will create a dynamic classroom atmosphere that encourages students to develop their language proficiency while also fostering an appreciation for Spanish-speaking cultures.
Responsibilities and Duties

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards and school curriculum.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports the academic and social-emotional growth of all students.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback to students and parents.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance instructional practices and support school initiatives.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in language instruction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Spanish, or a related field.
  • Valid New Jersey teaching certification in Spanish or eligibility to obtain certification.
  • Strong proficiency in Spanish and English, both written and spoken.
  • Experience teaching Spanish to elementary and/or middle school students.
  • Experience with English Language Learners (ELL) is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and collaboration.
  • Experience working with ELL students.
  • Familiarity with current educational technology and its application in the classroom.
  • Ability to integrate cultural content into language instruction.
