Florence Township School District School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing targeted instruction to students with special needs in a push-in/pullout replacement setting. This position requires a strong commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment that meets the diverse needs of students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction to students with disabilities in a pullout setting, focusing on individualized educational goals.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that address the unique learning needs of each student.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure alignment with grade-level curriculum and support the integration of students back into the general education setting.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress, and provide regular updates to parents, guardians, and IEP teams.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, contributing to the development and review of student goals and accommodations.
  • Implement behavior management strategies to support student engagement and success.
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, including paraprofessionals, speech therapists, and occupational therapists, to deliver a comprehensive educational program.
  • Stay current with best practices in special education and participate in professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Valid NJ Teaching Certification in Special Education.
  • Experience working with students with diverse learning needs in a special education setting.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage a classroom effectively and create a positive learning environment.
  • Proficient in using educational technology and adaptive tools.
