About CJCP
Central Jersey College Prep Charter School (CJCP) is a tuition-free, public charter school located in Somerset and New Brunswick, New Jersey. Serving grades Kindergarten through 12th, CJCP has a diverse student population from urban and suburban neighborhoods. CJCP first opened in 2006 with 77 students, now serving over 1,300 students with about 200 faculty and staff. CJCP is a recipient of many awards and designations such as 2016 Blue Ribbon Award, NJDOE Top-Performing Tier-I Status, US News Best High Schools, and College Board Female Diversity Awards. CJCP has produced a 100% graduation rate and a 100% acceptance rate into four-year colleges and universities since 2011. The mission of CJCP is to provide academic and social challenges and opportunities for students to attain the skills necessary for success in post-secondary education. CJCP serves its mission by offering rigorous educational programs with an emphasis on college preparation, college and career counseling, and extracurricular enrichment activities.
Math Interventionist job description
- Demonstrates knowledge of best instructional practices and research based intervention practices delivered in a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS)
- Exhibits strong data analysis skills and ability to make data-driven instructional decisions
- Demonstrates strong content and pedagogical knowledge in mathematics
- Ability to maintain a positive and engaging learning environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Must hold a NJ Teaching certification in one or more of the following:
- Help students who need extra support to master important math concepts and to address foundational math concepts and reinforcing any skill that a student isn’t proficient in.
- Extensive knowledge of Math interventions
- Strong understanding of Math fundamentals & concepts
- Ability to breakdown concepts and explain clearly in small groups
- Experience/comfort with online applications to enhance learning
- Design and implement curriculum and assessments that measure progress towards academic standards
- Use data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices
- Receptive to weekly coaching and committed to growing and strengthening practice
- Provide consistent rewards and/or consequences for student behavior
- Implement multiple techniques for increased student engagement and checking for understanding
- Will be accountable for students' mastery of academic standards
- Familiarity with Google Classroom and virtual meeting platforms
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree is required; Master's degree is preferred
- Teaching experience in an upper elementary, middle, or high school with an underserved population
- Adept interpersonal and communication skills to diverse audiences
- Valid NJ Teacher Certification completed or in progress
