Anticipated Opening: Gifted and Talented Teacher (Grades K-8)

Job TItle:  Anticipated Opening : Elementary Gifted and Talented Teacher 

Description:  The Burlington Township School District is seeking dynamic elementary certificated teachers to provide academic support and enrichment for gifted and talented students. Experience with assessments such as COGAT and teaching Gifted and Talented is preferred.  Responsibilities include delivering enrichment lessons to students that have been identified as Gifted and Talented and working collaboratively with classroom teachers to identify high performing students and create and facilitate a schedule providing academic enrichment services and supports.   

Job Requirements:

• Experience in researching topics involving Gifted and Talented programs and exploring resources appropriateto support these identified learners.
   
• Designs supports and professional development to support general education classroom teachers with accommodations for Gifted and talented students
   
• Minimum Bachelor's degree

• Valid New Jersey Elementary Teacher Certification; dual certification in another area (i.e. Special Education) will also be considered.

• Must meet New Jersey residency requirements.

• Demonstrated knowledge of effective teaching methods and developmentally appropriate classroom activities.

• Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

• Ability to work effectively as a member of a team and demonstrate flexibility.

• Required criminal history background check, proof of US citizenship or legal resident alien status.
