Principal Position for SY2025-2026

The Principal of Roseville Community Charter School is responsible for leading and overseeing the academic program and school culture.  The Principal is responsible for inspiring a strong vision for student achievement and instruction, and motivates others to follow that vision.  As the chief instructional leader, the principal is responsible for executing and supporting others to execute the school’s mission and vision through effective planning, leadership, and management.

 

Job Responsibilities of the Principal.

 

Student Achievement

  • Lead and oversee the school’s curriculum and instructional program

  • Achieve dramatic and consistent improvement in student academic performance

  • Analyze data with other instructional leaders and teachers to inform instructional decisions that support student achievement

  • Ensure that every student demonstrates dramatic achievement gains

  • Ensure a safe, positive, school culture that reinforces the school’s CHEER (collaboration, honesty, excellence, effort, and respect) values and promotes high standards for achievement.

Teacher Development and Evaluation

  • Plan effective and appropriate professional development for all instructional staff

  • Formally supervise, observe, and evaluate all instructional and relevant staff

  • Build strong teams and professional learning communities

School Leadership

  • Exemplify, advocate and operationalize the mission and expectations of Roseville Community Charter School

  • Foster a warm, nurturing, supportive environment with high expectations for social and academic achievement

  • Supervise K-2/3-5 instructional leaders, director of curriculum and instruction, coaches, and special education coordinator

  • Create a data-centered, achievement-oriented school culture

  • Interview and select teachers and other instructional staff

  • Communicate regularly with teachers, parents, and students both informally and through weekly staff and family communications.

  • Develop positive relationships with families and the local community, school partners, students, and staff

Qualifications

  • New Jersey Principal Certification

  • Strong commitment to the mission and vision of the School

  • A minimum of 5 years teaching in an elementary school with demonstrated exemplary student results

  • A minimum of 2 years leading teams and managing adults, previous experience as a principal preferred

  • Strong foundation in social emotional learning best practices

  • An understanding in the Responsive Classroom method a plus

  • High standards for student achievement

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Results-driven, with experience leading adults in the systematic use of data and assessments to drive instructional decisions

  • Experience working effectively with, building strong relationships with, and prioritizing the needs of educationally disadvantaged students

  • Very strong classroom management and discipline skills with the ability to model and coach teachers in this area
