We’ve also just finalized a new, highly competitive contract that includes three full and four half days of PD, plus opportunities to earn extra compensation.

Job Overview: Memorial School is seeking an innovative and dedicated 6th Grade Math Teacher to join our dynamic educational community. The ideal candidate will be passionate about engaging students in mathematics through diverse and effective pedagogical approaches. This teacher will be committed to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment that moves beyond algorithms to promote student understanding of mathematical concepts through real-world application. Responsibilities include providing instruction to four sections of 6th-grade students, creating and implementing engaging lesson plans informed by research-based practices, and assessing student progress. Familiarity with Problem/Project-Based Learning, Understanding by Design, or other innovative strategies is preferred. The teacher will also collaborate with colleagues to provide tiered interventions and extensions during our WIN (What I Need) period and communicate with parents to support student achievement.
Qualifications:
- Valid New Jersey Instructional Certificate (Middle School Math Extension with Elementary Education - or - K-12 Mathematics)
- Experience teaching mathematics and a passion for making math accessible to all learners.
- Knowledge of the New Jersey Student Learning Standards for Mathematics and effective assessment practices.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Desire to grow professionally and implement innovative teaching methods.
