The Board of Education invites applications from qualified candidates for the following position:

2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR

 

Position: Teacher of Special Education - Elementary – Short Term Leave Replacement

Effective date: On or about December 2, 2024 - January 27, 2025

Reports To: Principal / Superintendent

Nature and Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Principal / Superintendent, the 1st Grade Special Education Teacher will provide a comprehensive educational program tailored to the individual needs of each student. Responsibilities include implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), utilizing differentiated instruction, and creating an inclusive, supportive classroom environment. This position requires collaboration with parents, educators, and service providers to foster student growth academically, socially, and emotionally.

Preference will be given to candidates familiar with SIOP strategies, experienced in early elementary education, and/or certified in Teacher of Students with Disabilities.

 

Qualifications:

  • Valid New Jersey Teacher Certification in Special Education
  • Experience with elementary education and working with students with special needs
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to engage effectively with students, families, and colleagues
  • Knowledge of developmentally appropriate instructional methods for diverse learners
  • Required Criminal History Check
  • Proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident status by completing Federal Form I-9
  • Pass required State Mantoux/Tuberculin test and physical exam
