Job Title: Multilingual Learner K-5 Coordinator
Location: Plainfield, NJ

NATURE AND SCOPE OF JOB
The “Multilingual Learner K-5 Coordinator" will create and maintain curriculum scope and
sequence of WIDA Multilingual Learner Standards in regards to ELA, math, science, and social
studies; support CAPS curriculum writers with implementation of WIDA Standards and
Sheltered Instruction protocol; support the Supervisor of Multilingual Learners with professional
development of WIDA Standards and CAPS curriculum for CACCS teachers; serve as an
advocate for Multilingual Learners during PLCs and grade level meetings; and provide ML
services to Multilingual Learner students.

QUALIFICATIONS
? Valid New Jersey ESL certification
? 4+ years of teaching Multilingual Learners experience
? Master’s degree preferred
? Demonstrated knowledge of the WIDA Standards Framework and implementation
? Experience with curriculum writing, innovative instruction, and assessment writing,
including skills relevant to the project focus
? Effective problem solving, human relations, analytical, communication, writing, and
interpersonal skills

JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
? Works with the Supervisor of Multilingual Learners, Director of Teaching and Learning,
District/Building Leadership in the implementation of WIDA Standards and Sheltered
Instruction protocol within the CAPS curriculum
? Teaches a minimum of two and no more than three classes
? Work with project leader(s) to create and/or revise curriculum documents (scope and
sequence, unit plans, lesson plan guides, etc.) or assessments in specific subjects and
grades.

? Collaborates with Supervisor of ML to create a system for lesson plans of ML teachers
? Maintains a yearly calendar and timeline to complete applicable WIDA Standards and
curriculum implementation and support
? Participates in the training of Multilingual Learners personnel including in-service
programs for the district's ML programs
? Attends PLC meetings
? Performs other duties within the scope of his/her employment and certification as may be
assigned by the Supervisor of Multilingual Learners and/or Executive Director

Salary: 
70K-83K with the possibility of signing and retention bonus
