Description Position Overview: Livingston Public Schools is seeking an experienced and dynamic Pre-K - 6 English/Language Arts Supervisor to lead our elementary ELA department. The successful candidate will oversee curriculum development, support teachers in implementing best practices, and ensure alignment with district and state standards. This position is a full-time, 12-month, position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of Pre-K - 6 ELA curriculum and instructional practices.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other constituents to promote effective and innovative teaching strategies and best practices.
  • Analyze student performance data to identify trends, inform instruction, and support targeted interventions.
  • Plan and deliver professional development for educators in mathematics content, pedagogy, and assessment.
  • Support and lead the district reading intervention team.
  • Ensure compliance with state and district standards and mandates, including the New Jersey Student Learning Standards for ELA.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence in ELA education.
  • Serve as a resource for parents, guardians, and community members to support student learning in ELA.
  • Manage ELA department budgets and resources effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in education, language arts, Reading, or a related field.
  • Valid New Jersey Supervisor Certificate
  • Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience, preferably in elementary education
  • Demonstrated expertise in ELA instruction and curriculum development.
  • Orton Gillingham and/or Reading Specialist certifications preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in analyzing and utilizing student data to improve instructional outcomes.
  • Commitment to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive learning environment.
