Description
The North Plainfield English department is a humanities-minded and student-centered department committed to the development of a school community that is culturally competent with a commitment to building cultural understanding, fostering literacy and critical thinking. This is a full-time, tenure-track position.
Candidate should possess the following:
-New Jersey Teacher of English Certificate required
-Ability to successfully implement the district's reading and writing program
-Excellent written and oral communication skills, flexibility with a strong understanding of the NJ Student Learning Standards in the English Language Arts Classroom
-Ability to collaborate with colleagues both inside and outside the English Department
-Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents and the public
Spanish Bilingual is a plus
