Collier Middle & High Schools, both highly respected alternative programs for students benefitting from a more personalized and therapeutic learning environment, are seeking caring and skilled Paraprofessionals/Instructional Aides.

We offer programs within our Middle School/High School such as The S.T.A.R. program (Skills Training and Retention) which is a two week therapeutic intensive program tailored to Collier High School and Middle School students who are highly motivated to be at Collier, but have difficulty reaching or maintaining the standard of behavior and attendance expected at the school.

We also have openings in our Kateri Program that specializes component of the Collier High School. Here, students engage in a highly individualized learning experience that blends intensive therapeutic services with academic challenges, career exploration, community engagement, and enjoyable recreational activities. Within our small, safe, and nurturing community, students identify and address their unique social, emotional, and behavioral challenges as they develop the skills to function successfully in a complex adult world.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist teacher and provide extra support to students with disabilities
  • Provide instructional assistance individually or in a small group
  • Encourage, coach and assist students with emotional, academic and personal growth
  • Assist with any other projects and activities as needed, which includes transporting students

Qualifications:

  • NJ Standard Teaching Certification, a plus
  • Must have experience working with classified students with diversified needs and differentiated instruction
  • Experience with positive behavioral support, a plus
  • Must have a Substitute Certification or willing to obtain a substitute certification by demonstrating proof of 60 college credits
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Sincere desire to work with children and promote personal growth
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and able to work well under pressure
